Pictured: a radio image (by the Very Large Array, or VLA) of Messier 87 (M87), a giant elliptical galaxy in the Virgo Cluster, and an image of its center section by a Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) consisting of antennae in Finland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the United States.
