Cape Coral Florida is home to the largest population of the Florida species of the Burrowing Owl in the State.  Since the Florida species is only found in Florida, by default we have the largest population in the world.  Planning on a trip to Florida?  Be sure an schedule a tour to see these whimsical birds.  http://capecoralburrowingowls.com/Burrowing-Owl-Tours.html
Tours are given from November though April with limited tour availability during the hot summer months.

We have burrowing Owls.  The pair of burrowing owls that lived on my front lawn last year are back.  Although they don't migrate, they often head off to cooler places to escape the hot Florida sun.  Two owls have been seen at the burrow entrance and they can be followed on my webcam.  Visit http://capecoralburrowingowls.com to see the owls. If you are planning to visit Florida, be sure and schedule a tour to see these beautiful birds up close and personal.   A visit to see the endangered Florida Scrub Jay can also be arranged.
